Snap a photo. Understand the repair.

Photograph a home problem and SnapDiagnose tells you what it is, whether it's a safe do-it-yourself job, and the parts, tools, and rough regional cost to fix it — with video tutorials to walk you through it. When it isn't sure, it asks one quick question instead of guessing.

What you get

A straight answer, not a guess

Everything you need to decide whether a repair is yours to take on — and what it'll take to do it right.

An honest diagnosis, not a guess

Point your camera at a problem and SnapDiagnose identifies the issue in plain language — and when a photo doesn't show enough, it asks one quick question instead of guessing.

A clear safety call

Every diagnosis tells you whether it's a reasonable DIY job, a "consider a pro" job, or a stop-and-call-a-professional job — before you pick up a tool.

Parts, tools, and safety gear listed

See exactly what you'll need to do the job, including the safety gear, so you can gather everything in one trip.

Cost estimates for your region

Get rough cost estimates tuned to where you live, so you can weigh doing it yourself against calling someone.

Video tutorials to follow along

For DIY-safe jobs, SnapDiagnose points you to video tutorials so you're not fixing it blind.

Three angles, one problem

Add up to three photo angles of the same issue to give the diagnosis more to work with.

How it works

Snap, diagnose, fix

Three steps from "what is that?" to a clear plan of action.

  1. Snap

Photograph the problem — or something you want to improve — from up to three angles.

  2. Diagnose

Get an honest read on what it is, a safety call, and the parts, tools, and rough cost to sort it.

  3. Fix

Follow the video tutorials for DIY-safe jobs — or get a clear heads-up when it's one for a pro.

Straight with you

What it is, and what it isn't

SnapDiagnose is built to be straight with you. Here's exactly what it does — and what it deliberately won't.

What it is

  • A fast second opinion on a home problem, from a photo.
  • Honest about whether a job is safe to do yourself.
  • Equally happy planning an improvement ("I want to add moulding here") as fixing a fault.
  • Good with interior and exterior repairs — paint, flooring, drywall, fixtures, fans, basic plumbing — plus appliance troubleshooting, lawn and garden basics, and light vehicle maintenance.

What it isn't

  • Not a contractor-booking service.
  • Not a home inspection.
  • Not a substitute for a licensed tradesperson.
  • Anything involving gas, the main electrical panel, structural work, or permits is flagged for a professional — never walked through as DIY.

Some jobs aren't yours to take on. SnapDiagnose says so plainly — and shows no DIY steps when it does.

How it reads

A clear safety call, every time

Every diagnosis comes with a clear safety call, so you always know whether the job is yours to take on — colour and words, together.

Questions

Frequently asked

How accurate are the cost estimates?

They're rough, regional guides to help you decide — not quotes. Real prices vary by supplier, local rates, and how the job actually unfolds once you open it up. Treat them as a starting point, not a promise.

SnapDiagnose shopping list with parts, price ranges, and Home Depot, Lowe's, and Amazon links.
Why does it sometimes ask me a question?

When a photo doesn't show enough to be sure, SnapDiagnose asks one quick question rather than guessing. A little more context means a more honest diagnosis.

What happens to my photos and data?

We don't store your photos — each one is sent only to generate your diagnosis, with location and EXIF data stripped first, then discarded. The originals stay on your phone. We never sell your data, and you can delete your account and everything in it anytime from Settings.

Can I add more than one photo?

Yes — add up to three angles of the same problem. More angles give the diagnosis more to work with, especially for anything tucked into a corner or behind a fixture.

The SnapDiagnose capture screen with two photos of a clogged gutter added and room for a third.
What if the diagnosis is wrong?

It can be — no photo-based tool gets everything right. If something looks off, add another angle or re-check the details, and when the stakes are safety, cost, or anything structural, get a licensed professional's eyes on it. SnapDiagnose is a helpful first read, not the final word.

Is it available to download now?
Is there an Android version?

Not yet. SnapDiagnose is built on a codebase that runs on both platforms, so Android is planned — but iOS comes first, and we'd rather ship one platform properly than two badly. We haven't set a date. If you'd like to try the Android version when testing opens, put your name down and we'll let you know.
