We do not sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising or cross-app tracking. The sections below explain each item in plain language.

What we collect

You give us

Collected automatically

We do NOT collect: precise GPS location, your contacts, or advertising identifiers for ad targeting.

How we use it

We use your data to run and improve SnapDiagnose — not to build advertising profiles.

AI processing

To identify the issue in a photo, we send the image and your description to our AI processing provider, Anthropic (the maker of Claude). They process it to return a diagnosis and, under their commercial API terms, do not use your content to train their models. We do not keep a copy of the image once your diagnosis is returned. AI output can be wrong or incomplete — see the disclaimer in our Terms.

Service providers we share data with

We share only what's necessary with vendors who process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments:

ProviderPurpose
SupabaseAuthentication, database, and diagnosis processing (photos pass through in transit but are not stored)
RevenueCatManaging subscriptions and purchases
AppleApp Store billing (Apple handles your payment details; we never see full card data)
SentryCrash and error diagnostics
Anthropic (Claude)Generating the diagnosis from your photo

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights, users, or the public. We do not sell your personal information.

Data retention

We keep your account data — your diagnoses, history, and profile — while your account is active. Your photos are never stored: each one is used only to generate a diagnosis and discarded immediately, so there is nothing to retain or delete. When you ask us to delete your account, it is deactivated immediately — you're signed out and it can't be signed into again — and your diagnoses and personal data are then permanently and automatically deleted after 30 days. That short window exists so an accidental or malicious deletion can be reversed; email support@snapdiagnose.com within it if you change your mind. Residual copies in routine backups are purged on our normal cycle (within 30 days) after that.

Two things outlive your account, both unlinked from you (your user ID is erased from them, so they no longer identify you): security logs, kept to protect the service from fraud and abuse, and transaction records, which Apple and we may be legally required to retain.

Security

Photos are sent over encrypted connections (TLS) and are never written to our storage; the account data we do keep is protected with restricted access. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and limit what we collect in the first place.

Your choices and rights

Children

SnapDiagnose is not directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child gave us data, contact us and we'll remove it.

International users

We operate from Canada and may process data in Canada, the United States, or where our providers operate. Using SnapDiagnose means your data may be processed in these locations under this policy.

Changes

We'll post any changes here and update the "Last updated" date. Significant changes will be highlighted in the app or by email where appropriate.
